by, Phillip Pongratz, TXST Assistant Sports Information Director

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State track and field teams return to action after a busy week last week with two simultaneous meets. This week the Bobcats head up to Waco, Texas for the Baylor Invitational that will take place on Saturday at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium.

“For most of our athletes, they have competed in four meets in-a-row and are coming off an outstanding Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational,” said Jody Stewart, Director of Track and Field/Cross Country. “We plan to race at a lighter capacity this week after all of the racing this last weekend. Our focus remains on execution while getting a chance to face new competition.”

The meet starts at 10 a.m. with the men’s hammer throw and women’s javelin event. Competition on the track is slated to begin at 3 p.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Along with Texas State, other schools at the meet include Cal State Northridge, Fresno State, Houston, South Florida and Tulsa.

The meet schedule, live results and heat sheets can be found on the Texas State track and field schedule page.
