Boil Water Notice canceled after water main break

Staff Reports

SAN MARCOS — On June 14, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of San Marcos public water system, TX 1050001, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions that occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

A boil notice is being rescinded for all addresses on the following streets: Longcope Loop, Philo St, Turkey Hollow Cir, Reimer Ave, James St, Dees St, Suttles Ave, Laurel Hill Rd, Willow Creek Cir, Rolling Oaks, Cedar Park, Corrie Ct, Oak Haven, Mountain Dr, Stagecoach, Mountainview Dr, Missy Ln, Snyder Hill, Colleen Ct, Willow Ridge, and Ridge Crest.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of June 15, 2021.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact the Water/Wastewater Utilities office at 512.393.8010.

  • The pipe breakage and boil notices are being caused by private businesses--NOT public utilities.

Every time you get a boil notice, be advised it's because the City continues to allow private businesses to dig in our public streets in violation of well settled public law. More, the city charges these private businesses big time fees for allowing them to dig and damage our publicly owned streets for private purposes. The city does NOT own the streets, they are merely a trustee for our public property. Enjoy your boiled water !!!
