Bowie’s Nora Cruz, Sept District Diamond

Nora Cruz has worked for San Marcos CISD for 30 years – all of those years served at Bowie Elementary . Ms. Cruz got her start working as the attendance secretary and after a few years, she moved into the Principal/Finance Secretary position, which she still holds.  During her tenure at Bowie, Ms. Cruz has worked with 4 school principals and witnessed the development of the “new” Bowie campus when the current building was opened almost 10 years ago.
Ms. Cruz is a native of San Marcos, having grown up in our community along with 7 brothers and 1 sister.  She is a proud Rattler, San Marcos High School Class of 1975.  Her children and grandchildren have also attended school in SMCISD – one grandchild currently attends Bowie.
Ms. Cruz is organized, efficient, dependable, and always willing to help faculty, staff and parents.  She is the definition of a team player, and often goes above and beyond, from securing buses for field trips to collecting class T-shirt money to maximizing the campus budget.  Bowie is proud to have Ms. Cruz as September’s District Diamond.
