She was traveling eastbound on FM 150 when the accident occurred. According to police, a dog that was in the vehicle also died as a result of the crash.

The two-car accident happened at about 4:30 PM, according to Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett, on east FM 150 between Hill St. and Lehman Rd. Traffic was diverted for several hours at Hill St. during the investigation.

The driver of the second vehicle, which was traveling westbound on FM 150, was transported to the hospital; she was treated and released. No other passengers were in that vehicle.

Barnett said the KPD Crash Team was on scene yesterday and will continue their investigation of the accident.

The Kyle Police Department will close the section of FM 150 between Hill St and Lehman Rd again on Thursday, January 10. The section will be closed from 10 AM to 2 PM while the KPD Crash performs an accident reconstruction at the site.

  1. Of course I don’t know what actually happened, but the right lane does end there, and people will speed up instead of yielding. With all the new subdivisions on 150, really hope they expand the road.

  2. So very sad. Sofia was a delightful young lady.
Was a joy knowing her and working with her.
    So sorry for her loss.

That area of the road is very dangerous, ppl drive to fast and way aggressively.
