An 18-year-old San Marcos man is being treated in the hospital after a shooting in the 500 block of Linda Lane.
San Marcos Police received a call around 11 p.m. last night requesting help for a man who had been shot in the head at the Townwood Apartments.
According to witnesses, Jose Tarango (03/02/1998) asked his friends to drive him to the Townwood Apartments to visit a friend. His friends dropped him off and as they were leaving heard gunshots. They found him injured on the first floor of the apartment complex breezeway.
His friends put him in the car and drove him to the McDonalds restaurant on Hopkins Street. Once emergency crews arrived Tarango was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin in critical condition.
The shooters are described as a short, Hispanic man and a taller, African-American man, both wearing grey hoodies and ski masks. Police are asking anyone with information about this crime to call San Marcos Police Detective Dave Campbell at 512.753.2312.
