BREAKING: San Marcos Child Drowns In Apartment Complex Pool

San Marcos Police Department is investigating the drowning death of 4-year-old Dixon Ramirez Valdez (01/07/2012).

 

Officers say two women were working, cleaning apartments at a complex in the 1600 block of Post Rd. on Saturday. They brought their children along. The children, ranging in ages from 4 to 18, were playing and swimming at the complex pool while their mothers were working.

 

Just before 3 p.m. one of the children, a six-year-old girl, noticed the 4-year-old was along the edge of the pool seemed to be asleep. It was brought to the 18-year-old’s attention. The 18- year-old removed child from the pool and began CPR.

 

Once emergency crews arrived they continued life saving measures and eventually transported the child to Central Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

 

An autopsy has been ordered and police continue to investigate.
