BREAKING: SMPD Investigating Robbery, Gunshot Fatality

San Marcos Police are investigating a suspicious death at a local apartment complex that was discovered yesterday morning. They are treating this investigation as a robbery-homicide.

At 7:24am on Wednesday, February 13, the San Marcos Police Department responded to Park North Condos in the 1600 block of Aquarena Springs Drive to assist San Marcos Hays County EMS. A family member had found the deceased male at his apartment, with a single gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as Aaron “Jack” Jackson Peterman (09/12/1998).

Justice of the Peace Scott Cary pronounced Mr. Peterman deceased at the scene. He was transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

This is the first homicide in San Marcos this year. There was one in the City in 2018.
