BREAKING: Suspicious Letter At The Hays County Law Enforcement Center

On April 27, 2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m. the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center located at 1307 Uhland Road, San Marcos, Hays County received a suspicious letter containing a powdery substance. The building was immediately placed on restriction. Officials from Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Hays County Office of Emergency Management, Hays County Hazardous Materials Team and the Federal Bureau of Investigations responded to the scene.
 
The building has been cleared and all personnel have returned to normal operations. The Hays County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations will be conducting the investigation. Due to the sensitive nature of the incident, no further information will be released at this time.
 
The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Hays County Sheriff’s Office at 512-393-7896 and ask to speak with the Criminal Investigations Division or you may contact the Hays County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS (8477). You may also submit your information electronically from the link on the Hays County Crime Stoppers website or by using the free “TipSubmit” application from a smart phone. Should your information lead to the arrest and indictment of the suspect(s), you will be eligible for a CASH reward of up to $1,000. All calls are confidential and callers will remain anonymous. You do not have to give your name and you will not have to testify in court.
