Buda Announces Senior Volunteer Fair Date

Staff Reports

Age of Central Texas, the City of Buda Task Force on Aging, and the Onion Creek Senior Center will hold a Senior Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the Onion Creek Senior Center.

The fair is free. Senior Citizens are considered an important part of the volunteer community, and there are plenty of volunteer options in Buda and the surrounding area. Several organizations will be on hand at the Senior Volunteer Fair to showcase those opportunities.

May also happens to be Older Americans Month. Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads our nation’s observance of Older Americans Month. This year’s theme is Connect, Create, Contribute, which encourages older adults and their communities to:

  • Connect with friends, family, and services that support participation.
  • Create by engaging in activities that promote learning, health, and personal enrichment.
  • Contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others.
