Buda City Council Receives Update On Local Holiday Events

Staff Reports

The City of Buda City Council received an update on Tuesday regarding how the city’s regular holiday events will play out in a pandemic.

According to David Marino, Buda Communications Director, the city has adjusted a number of its annual events because of COVID-19 to ensure the safety of the public and city staff.

The city’s annual Trail of Lights will be a drive-thru event this year.

Opening weekend for trail of lights is slated for December 5 and December 6 and will run Thursday through Sunday from 6 PM to 10 PM until December 20.

Thus far, the city has set dates for the Santa Neighborhood Drive and Thru Mini Parade, fireworks displays and drive-in movies at Doc’s Drive-In Theater.

Santa’s Neighborhood Drive and Thru Mini Parade and fireworks display are slated for December 4 with the drive-in movies at the drive-in theater set for December 12.

The Buda Public Library has several events planned for the holiday season including Virtual Calls with Santa, virtual storytimes, and open-air art classes, but no dates have been set as of yet.

The Festival of Trees is scheduled to run from December 4 thru December 20 at the Downtown Greenbelt.
