The Buda City Council will be considering “prohibiting concealed or openly carried handguns into any area that houses a public meeting of a governmental entity that is subject to the Open Meetings Act and to post the notices advising the public of the prohibition of carrying a handgun on court facilities in buildings that house the Municipal Court and Court Offices.”

The City of Buda is in the process of building a new municipal complex that will house the following offices;

  • City Manager/ City Manager’s Executive Assistant
  • Assistant City Managers
  • City Secretary
  • Human Resources
  • Engineering and Planning
  • Parks Director & Coordinator
  • Finance
  • Utility Billing/Municipal Court
  • Public Information Office
  • Economic Development Corporation
  • City Council Chambers
  • Library

Consideration and possible action to adopt a Resolution authorizing the City to post notices at the entrances to buildings owned or leased by the City of Buda prohibiting concealed or openly carried handguns into any area that houses a public meeting of a governmental entity that is subject to the Open Meetings Act and to post the notices advising the public of the prohibition of carrying a handgun on court facilities in buildings that house the Municipal Court and Court Offices making license holders aware of the court facilities.
