According to this week’s agenda for the Buda City Council, their are major (voter/election) items and issues up for discussion. 

Additionally, several of the items will be left up to the voters on a special called election in November.

G. PRESENTATIONS

4. Receive the City Manager’s presentation of the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Financial Plan for the City of Buda.

H. REGULAR AGENDA

H.1. Discussion and possible action regarding a record vote to set a proposed FY 2017-2018 Tax Rate.

H.2. Discussion  and  possible  action  regarding  the  public  hearings  schedule  for  the  City’s  proposed  FY 2017-2018 Budget and Tax Rate.

H.4. Consideration of adopting a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Buda, Texas ordering a General Election to be held in the City of Buda, Texas, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 for the purposes of electing a Mayor and two (2) Council members, establishing an early voting location and polling place for this election; making provisions for the conduct of the election; and providing for a runoff election in the City of Buda.

H.5. Consideration of adopting an Ordinance of the City of Buda, Texas ordering a Special Election to be held November 7, 2017, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters, for adoption or rejection, of proposed amendments to the existing Charter of the City of Buda, Texas; establishing early voting locations and precinct polling places for this election; and making provisions for the conduct of the election.

H.6. Consideration of adopting a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Buda, Texas ordering a Special Election to be held in the City of Buda, Texas, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 for the purposes of submitting to the qualified voters, for adoption or rejection, a proposed initiative ordinance relating to the use of fluoride in the municipal potable water supply.

H.7. Consideration of adopting a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Buda, Texas ordering a Special Election to be held in the City of Buda, Texas, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 for the purposes of electing one Council Member for an unexpired term in Place 4.

I. EXECUTIVE SESSION 

I.1. Council will recess its open session and convene in executive session pursuant to Government Code Chapter 551.071 to deliberate and  seek legal advice from the City Attorney regarding the Charter election process and the proposed Charter Amendments; and, §551.071 to consult with its attorneys to seek legal advice regarding land sales by Cabela’s Wholesale, Inc. and regarding issues related to the federal taxation of bond proceeds on the Cabela’s development project.
