Buda economic development hires new ED specialist

BUDA, TEXAS— The Buda Economic Development Corporation hired Shannon Mumley as its new Economic Development Specialist. Mumley will assume her responsibilities today.

Mumley has worked in a variety of fields, including health care, higher education, food service, start-ups, and then economic development, while she earned her master’s degree in Organizational Psychology. She discovered her passion while working for MetroHartford Alliance, building communities and helping towns/cities grow.

She was the Director of Small Business Development for the Hartford Chamber of Commerce in Connecticut prior to joining the Buda EDC.

Buda EDC Executive Director Traci Anderson said, “Communities are Shannon’s passion, and her drive helps accomplish her goals. She sits on two community-oriented boards up in Connecticut. She created a yearly event that encourages the community to discover a new retail spot to help growth, and she was honored with the 40 Under 40 award in that state.”

“I am so honored to join an organization that is so focused on growing the Buda Community. I am excited to see how I can leverage my skills and talents to help support the business community here!” Mumley said.

Mumley grew up in the Northeast where she has lived her whole life. She said she is excited for an adventure and to help bring her years of placemaking, economic development, and energy to Buda. She is exploring Austin and Buda with her pup, Uli.

“Shannon’s experience, drive, and passion will help the Buda EDC achieve Buda’s goals and objectives for economic development, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the team,” said Anderson.
