Buda Police Investigating Death Of 21-Year-Old In Pedestrian-Train Accident

Late Monday night, at approximately 9:54 PM, police responded to a location along the railroad tracks on Garison Road for a major accident involving a pedestrian and Union Pacific train.

The Buda Police Department is investigating the death of Buda resident Ian Antonellis, 21, in a pedestrian versus train incident which occurred last night, Monday, October 9, 2017.

Late Monday night, at approximately 9:54 PM, police responded to a location along the railroad tracks on Garison Road for a major accident involving a pedestrian and Union Pacific train. Police were notified of a single subject who was struck by the train and reported deceased on scene.

Although traffic was diverted, the incident had the railroad crossing at Main Street and Houston Street closed for an extended period of time. Justice of the Peace Scott Cary was also dispatched to the incident and has ordered an autopsy. This is an ongoing investigation and exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.
