Buda Police respond to fatal car accident

Sierra Martin | Managing Editor

HAYS COUNTY — The Buda Police Department, assisted by Tx DPS, worked an accident that occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, that resulted in one fatality and the hospitalization of a 10-year-old and 44-year-old.

A 2010 Hyundai Elantra with three occupants and a 2017 Jeep Cherokee with two occupants were the vehicles involved in the accident in the 1400 block of RM-967 (at Armbruster’s Curve, generally between Cullen Boulevard and Haleys Way).

The driver of the Hyundai, Noe Enriquez-Aguilar, approximately 44-years-old, was taken to Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle. The front seat passenger, Briceida Denova Garcia, approximately 42-year-old, was deceased and taken to the Medical Examiners Office.

The rear driver’s side passenger was a juvenile male, approximately 10-years-old, and he was taken to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin via helicopter. The driver (DOB 10/16/2003) and passenger (09/15/2003) of the Jeep were both high school students and had minor injuries checked at the scene by medics.

Correction: A change was made to this article to correct the DOB of the driver of the Jeep from 10/16/2013 to 10/16/2003.

    • Hello Ms. Rias,
We have made the correction clarifying that the driver was born in 2003. Thank you for your comment!

  • Curious as to why the names of the driver and passenger of the Jeep are not listed as per their DOBs they are both adult age

  • This is absurd the driver and passenger of the jeep are both adults. From the look of this you can see that money bought justice. The mother/sister/cousin/friend lost their life just because some stupid ass adults wanted to play GTA on a rode that was 30miles per hr. The sheriff that was in change of this case is a total joke I won’t be surprised if he was covering other things too.

    • PROOF!
I checked Google maps, ground-view. Only saw one speed limit sign and one curve ahead sign. The speed limit is 50. The recommended speed around the curve is 35. -- Please feel free to file a petition if you feel the speed limit needs to be lowered. In the meantime, stop with the baseless accusations.

(Based on the extent and location of injuries, it kind of sounds like the jeep was rear-ended.)

    • it was rainy with a speed limit of 50. cant really speed there with the traffic at that time (school end), and there is construction which adds dirt to the road, making it slick. its just a tragic accident. the teens involved are not experienced drivers which adds to the problem. but they are not fully adults by law, so no names.
