Buda Releases FY 2019-2020 Utility Rates

On Friday, October 11, the City of Buda released the finalized utility rates for the Fiscal Year 2019-2020.

Utility rates for the new fiscal year will be reflected in the next billing cycle. The next utility bill will go out in mid-October and is due on November 10.

City of Buda utility customers will see a 2 percent water rate increase and a 3 percent wastewater rate increase.  Most water rate increases are the result of new water supply sources. The wastewater rate increase is associated with the City of Buda’s water treatment plant expansion which will be completed in 2021.

Sewer Rates Averaging

The City of Buda conducts its annual sewer rates averaging from November through February, which are the lowest water consumption months of the year. The three lowest months of water consumption are averaged to determine the customer’s sewer charge for the following 12 months.

If a customer has any water leaks, like leaky faucets or running toilets, this is the time to make repairs. Making those repairs will help avoid having high usage during the averaging period and keep sewer costs down for the following year.
