Buda Seeks Construction Bids For New Amphitheater

Voters approved $55 million in bond funds to pay for the proposed amphitheater that will have a 1,200-square-foot stage that includes a 30-inch platform above grade to help prevent flooding.

Buda city officials are expecting to seek construction bids this spring for a new amphitheater estimated to cost up to $790,000.

Voters approved $55 million in bond funds to pay for the proposed amphitheater that will have a 1,200-square-foot stage that includes a 30-inch platform above grade to help prevent flooding.

Alternate features include a roof over the stage and two backstage restrooms, a storage room and dressing room.

The amphitheater is expected to serve an audience of about 24,000 attending the events and comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The goal is to complete the new amphitheater by summer of 2019.
