THURSDAY UPDATE: Buda’s Black History Celebration has been rescheduled to Saturday, Feb. 27, due to the current weather situation.
Organizations said they rescheduled to allow participants and the community to focus on themselves and their families through the wintery weather.
Buda will hold the Black History Celebration 2.0 ‘Lift Ev’ry Voice’ on Feb. 20 this year.
The event will be held entirely virtually from 2 to 4 PM via Facebook Live.
The celebration will include appearances by local residents and officials. This year’s lineup includes City Councilmember Ray Bryant, KCC Owner/Visionary Sandra Bryant, Lockhart Councilmember Derrick “David” Bryant, Grace Castaneda, Deatrick Stigall, and Earrick Stigall.
Poet Cedric Bellamy, Singer/Songwriter Bri Marie, Dancers Skylar Powel, and Samantha Medlin, Lyrical Dancer Shania Fitzgerald, David L. Johnson, and Poet Makayla Latham will also be part of the program.
