Buda waste collection schedule not affected by holidays, plus know your holiday recycling options

Staff Reports

BUDA – Because of the timing of the collections, Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) waste collections will not be affected by the holidays. Additionally, TDS has worked with the City of Buda to ensure residents will be able to take advantage of alternative pick-ups and recycling options for live trees and holiday lights.

Below are some of the solutions that have been put into place:

  • Residents may place two (2) additional 30-gallon bags by their waste carts from Dec. 26, 2021, through Jan. 7, 2022. TDS has requested residents to only place these additional bags by their carts on their collection day.
  • Residents may take up to five (5) cubic-yards of material to the landfill each month at no cost.
  • Residents may take their holiday lights (strings of holiday lights) for recycling to the HOLIDAY LIGHT RECYCLING DROP-OFF BINS, which are located near the Buda City Library (Municipal Building, 405 E. Loop St., Buda, Texas) from Dec. 26, 2021, through Jan. 31, 2022. For recycling, remove all clips and only turn in strings of lights.
  • Live trees may be recycled as part of the Green Waste Program. Residents are requested to remove all ornaments, lights and decorations from trees, and to cut and bundle trees into 4-foot sections with twine.
