Buda’s New Municipal Facility Groundbreaking Ceremony

BUDA, TX – The City of Buda will hold a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Municipal Facility and Public Safety building on Sept. 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. The Municipal Facility will house a library, municipal court, city hall, community multi-purpose space, and emergency preparedness space.

 

The Public Safety building will house the police department and related emergency and training facilities.

 

The Municipal Facility and Public Safety Building are part of a $55 million dollar bond approved by voters in November of 2014.

 

Proposition 1 – Municipal Facility – $21 million

  • Designed with many sustainable features
  • Designed to connect with the local environment
  • Designed with an emphasis on future modularity

City Hall/Library square footage is 53,000 sq. ft.

  • 16,000 for library
  • 18,400 for commons (including classrooms, multipurpose areas, and Council chambers)
  • 18,700 for City Hall

 

Proposition 2 – Public Safety Facility – $6.75 million

Public Safety building is 15,900 sq. ft.
