Free Brush Drop Off for San Marcos residential garbage & recycling customers (please bring your utility bill). Enter at San Marcos Animal Shelter, 750 River Road, and follow the signs. Held second Saturday of each month (weather permitting) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
America Recycles Day, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., San Antonio Street on south side of the courthouse. Plastic products buyback, interactive booths on recycling and reusing.

San Marcos Municipal Court at the Hays County Government Center, 712 S. Stagecoach Trail, will be closed in accordance with the Hays County facility holiday schedule.
 
Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27, 2015
Thanksgiving Holiday, City of San Marcos offices, including City Hall, Library, Activity Center, Municipal Building, and Electric Utility, will be closed. Texas Disposal Service (TDS) will postpone residential trash and recycling collection by one day: Thursday routes will be picked up on Friday and Friday routes on Saturday.

Small Business Saturday, 12-5 p.m. at participating downtown businesses. Celebrate the holiday season with the lighting of downtown and the Courthouse, visits with Santa, a gift donation drive, and complementary giftwrapping for shoppers.
