CAPCOG: Open Meetings And Public Information Course

CAPCOG offers numerous training opportunities in the areas of elderly care, law-enforcement, 9-1-1 emergency communications, homeland security and for elected public officials.

Open meetings and Public Information course

The Capital Area Council of Governments is hosting trainers from the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Texas Municipal League to instruct elected officials on Texas Open Meetings and Public Information Acts.

This workshop will offer a more expansive and interactive training than what is available through the Texas Attorney General’s website. Each trainer will lead a topical presentation, but they also will participate in a question-and-answer panel allowing attendees to address any queries they may have about the two acts. New regulations established during the Texas 84th Legislature will be included in the workshop presentations.

This workshop is free for elected officials who represent cities and counties in CAPCOG’s 10-county region. Those elected officials should use a coupon code to register. Contact Mason W. Canales at mcanales@capcog.org or 512-916-6163 to receive a coupon code.

Cost: $25 for non-members, free for members
Dates and Times: 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015
Continuing education hours: 4
