Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Upcoming Open Houses

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties.

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization has invited residents of the Capital Metropolitan Area to participate in person or online in CAMPO’s planning initiatives.

Residents are invited to attend open houses and to provide comment on the following initiatives.

•   Public Participation Plan (Comment period: OPEN NOW- December 31, 2018)

•    Amendments to the Regional Transportation Plan and Transportation Improvement Program (Comment period: November 26- December 31, 2018)

•    Regional Arterials Plan and MoKan Subregional Plan*

•    Luling Transportation Study† (Comment period: November 26- December 31, 2018)

Participate Online

Visit CAMPO’s website to participate in online open houses and submit electronic comments. The Public Participation Plan online open house began November 13, 2018. All others start November 26, 2018. All information available in person will also be available online.

Participate In Person

All in person open houses are from 4-7 pm unless otherwise noted. The open houses are a come-and-go format so come at your convenience. Children’s activities will be available.

Public Hearing for the Public Participation Plan and amendments to the Regional Transportation Plan and Transportation Improvement Program.

The hearing will be an item on the CAMPO Transportation Policy Board’s agenda. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Thompson Conference Center, 2405 Robert Dedman Dr., Austin 78712. Free parking is available at the southwest corner of Red River and Dean Keeton.

Persons with special needs or disabilities who plan to attend in person open houses and require auxiliary aids, services, or translations are requested to call (512) 215-8225 at least five working days prior to the meeting so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties.

MPOs are federally required throughout the country in areas with a population of 50,000 or more and are required to produce a 20+ year transportation plan, called a Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), and a four-year planning document called the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
