CASA Announces First CASA Classic Golf Tournament ‘Hole Lotta Love’

CASA of Central Texas advocates for abused and neglected children in the court and child welfare system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Central Texas announced the “Hole Lotta Love” CASA Classic Golf Tournament, which will take place on Monday, Oct. 30, at Spring Ranch.

The fundraising event is presented by Corridor Title and will benefit the organization’s service area.

The CASA Classic Golf Tournament is the first of what will be an annual event to raise money for local advocacy efforts. CASA of Central Texas is looking for golfers and community supporters; there are six sponsorship packages available. (However, the largest sponsorship package has already sold out.)

Those interested in participating in the tournament have the option of playing in teams or individually.

For a rundown of sponsorships and player benefits and fees, see the form below. For full details on sponsorship packages as well as individual/team and sponsorship registration, check out the tournament’s website here.

All proceeds benefit CASA of Central Texas, which supports volunteers and serves children in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties.

CASA of Central Texas began in 1985 in Comal County with 18 volunteer advocates and the mission to recruit and train volunteers who would provide an objective viewpoint in civil child protection court cases.

By 1994 the program expanded into Hays and Caldwell counties and into its fourth county, Guadalupe, in 1996. CASA has grown to more than 200 active volunteers offering a unique service, advocacy for children who have been abused or neglected and are under State protective care.

CASA of Central Texas advocates for abused and neglected children in the court and child welfare system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers.

In 2016, CASA volunteers served nearly 500 children in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties, but there were still another 700 children who did not have the voice of a CASA. More advocates are needed, and training is held throughout the year.

If you would like to make a difference in the life of an abused or neglected child in your community, or for more information about the CASA Classic, please contact the CASA office 512-392-3578 or 830-626-2272 or visit www.casacentex.org.
