CASAblanca Event Highlights Need For CASA Volunteers, Honors Local Community Member, Hays County Commissioner

CASA of Central Texas thanks everyone who had a part in making this year’s annual fundraiser, CASAblanca, a success. From sponsors to event coordinators and volunteers, to raffle items donors, and everyone who took time to attend the event, all have shown they want to be a part of ending child abuse in Central Texas.

CASAblanca is an annual fundraising event hosted by the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Central Texas to raise money to help continue their mission, highlight the need for more advocates in Hays County and honor local community members for their service and commitment to the community.

The April 12th event held midway through national Child Abuse Prevention Month, highlighted the need for more CASA volunteers, and honored Barry Williams, Regional President, Prosperity Bank, and Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe, Commissioner, Precinct 1 – Hays County for their long-standing commitment to serving the community.

Corridor Title President Patrick Rose emceed, and The Chandelier of Gruene hosted this year’s Moroccan-themed event complete with an authentic Venet Lounge set up by Relic Rentals.

In 2018, CASA volunteers served 596 children in the Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties, but there were another 620 children who did not have the voice of a CASA.

More advocates are needed and free training are offered throughout the year. If you would like to make a difference in the life of an abused or neglected child in your community, please contact the CASA offices at 830-626-2272 or 512-392-3578, or visit www.casacentex.org.
