Caty Partin Retires After 23 Years At Gary Job Corps
Caty Partin came to Gary Job Corps in 1995 feeling that a change in occupation would be a challenge from having a successful second hand furniture store with her husband.
Her plan was to come to Gary Job Corps after passing by for years, her thought was to give it a couple of months.
As with most tenured staff, the short time employment becomes a passion to help young men and women be “the best” they can be.
Caty stated, “I have truly enjoyed my teaching experience at Gary, I feel that I have made an impact on the futures of my students and they too have had an impact on my life.”
Caty over the years has taught all subjects for the GED, assisted students with the Job Corps Academic Olympics, set-up the first High School on-line program, facilitated with Guided Group Interaction focus groups with students, worked with vocational instructors to show how service learning would assist students in understanding the need of the basics, assisted with the planning and execution of Student Graduation Ceremonies, currently she was the teaching English with the Southwest Texas High School at Gary.
