Central Texas Medical Center Announces Winners Of 6th Annual Kids Art Contest

On Thursday, Central Texas Medical Center announced the winners of the 6th Annual Kids Art Contest with a reception held at the hospital. All winners’ artwork is featured in the 2020 CREATION Health Calendar.

“Each year, I am amazed by the creative ways our local children illustrate the CREATION Health principles,” said CTMC President/CEO Anthony Stahl. “It is such a unique way to get them thinking about overall wellness from a young age, and I am proud that CTMC can play that role in a child’s life.”

Annually, this calendar celebrates healthy living by focusing on each of the eight CREATION Health principles that help people live life to the fullest. CREATION Health is an acronym for the eight principles, which are: Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook and Nutrition.

“The Kids Art Calendar Contest is a great way for Hays County youngsters to express what health and well-being mean to them,” said Sonia Martinez, operations coordinator for the CTMC CREATION Health Institute. “This opportunity gives local kids the chance to use their artistic talents to educate our community members on how they can live a healthy lifestyle by practicing the CREATION Health principles.”

Each child participating in the contest was required to create artwork that illustrates one of the eight CREATION Health concepts. Entries could be created in any 2-D or digital medium.
