Central Texas Medical Center Foundation Honored Pink Heals Hays County At Stars Of Texas Gala

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – The Central Texas Medical Center Foundation’s 26th annual Stars of Texas Gala raised $187,655 for the CTMC Women’s Center’s Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that cares for the smallest patients.

Platinum sponsors included Robert W. McDonald III and John and Chloe Navarrette.

This year’s gala honored the philanthropic work of Pink Heals Hays County, a chapter of the National Pink Heals Tour. Their mission is to provide communities with a program that supports people in need on a personal level in partnership with public safety and local businesses.

For seven years, the Hays County chapter has raised funds to help offset medical and living expenses for local families battling cancer.

“It really was an extraordinary night,” said CTMC President/CEO Anthony Stahl. “We had the chance to come together as a community to honor Pink Heals, a deserving group of volunteers that takes care of cancer patients in our area. We are very grateful to everyone that attended this year’s event.”

Guests were updated on the advances made in the CTMC Breast Health Center thanks to the new GeniusÔ 3D Mammography machine with Hologic’s Genius SmartCurve System, which was the beneficiary of the 2018 Stars of Texas Gala. The latest imaging technology provides radiologists with the highest resolution 3D images to help identify cancers earlier, while the SmartCurve system delivers a more comfortable mammogram without compromising image quality.

“On behalf of the CTMC Foundation, I’d like to extend my gratitude to everyone that contributed to this year’s Stars of Texas Gala,” said Corey Carothers, CTMC Foundation Board Chairman. “The money raised Sunday night will go a long way in helping CTMC continue to provide excellent care to newborn babies and their families.”

Plans are already underway for the Foundation’s 27th ‘Stars of Texas’ Gala which is set for Sunday, October 11, 2020.
