Check Out These Traffic Impacts Affecting Your Commute In & Around San Marcos

The long & short term road construction projects that could affect your drive… Please use caution, drive slowly, and watch for heavy equipment, construction workers, and traffic control flaggers.

All traffic projects may be subject to delays or extensions due to weather and/or the current Public Health situation.

Street Maintenance

Traffic will have intermittent lane closure citywide for Crosswalk and School Zone striping for the Following Neighborhoods:

  • LEAH AVE — Medical Parkway to San Marcos Parkway will have street maintenance for sidewalk construction. Maintenance will run Jan. 11 to Feb. 12 from 7 AM to 5 PM. For more information, contact Transportation at 512.393.8036.

     

 

Special Weekly Closures

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: — Every Saturday — FARMERS MARKET

Every Saturday from 7:30 AM to 3 PM, Half a block of the street closed from the Alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program 512.393.8430.

VICTORY GARDENS PROJECT — 01/01/20 to 02/28/21 — UNDERGROUND UTILITY INSTALLATION

The Victory Gardens Neighborhood will undergo a new underground utility installation and will impact traffic in the following streets Georgia Street, Armstrong Street, Eisenhower Street, Camacho Street, McArthur Street, Virginia Street, and Churchill Street. The Closure will also affect Patton Street, Wavell Street, and Knox Street. Starting Jan. 1 through Feb. 28 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information contact Darren with Cox Commercial Construction at 956.601.1645.

DOWNTOWN LOFTS APARTMENTS PROJECT — UNTIL 02/26 — CONSTRUCTION

The following will be closed due to construction: Fredericksburg Street at Hopkins Street to San Antonio Street, the southbound lane of Telephone Alley at Hopkins Street to San Antonio Street, and Feltner Alley at San Antonio Street. The closure will run through Feb. 26. For more information, contact A.C.G. LLC at 248.632.2311.

HOPKINS STREET — 05/2020 to Spring 2022 — STREET RECONSTRUCTION

Hopkins Street between Bishop Street and Moore Street will be closed for a Street Reconstruction Project. Traffic will be detoured to Craddock at both ends of the project, with only local traffic allowed. Phase 2 will begin and extend the closure for local traffic from Bishop to Endicott Street. Phase 1 is anticipated to be complete by January and will open to local traffic from Mitchell Street to Endicott Street. The overall completion of the project is scheduled for Spring 2022. HOPKINS STREET — 11/30/2020 to 08/31/2021 — SIDEWALK INSTALLATION

CM Allen Parkway to Thorpe Lane will have intermittent single-lane closures starting Nov. 30 to Aug. 31 from 9 AM to 3 PM for the installation of sidewalks and driveways. For information over this project, contact Brad Bechtol with Mac Inc. at 512.350.3767.
