Christmas Sing-Along, Gift Shopping, Art & Decor To Highlight Third Thursday At Price Center

Inside, a variety of Christmas trees – traditional and non, handmade ornaments, wonderful and imaginative floral displays, and unique mini-collections offer a delightfully merry and visual treat for all.

San Marcos, TX – A mother and son led Christmas Carol Sing-Along, pop-up art/gift vendors, a holiday-inspired art show, and some of downtown San Marcos’ best holiday decor are all on tap for visitors to Third Thursday Downtown Walkabout at the Price Center from 6-9 p.m. this Thursday, Dec. 20.

The Downtown Association has also arranged for free pedicab rides and the Grinch and a few mischievous elves to visit participating sites throughout the night.

As always, the event is free, open to all and light refreshments, including an alcohol-free Christmas Wassail will be served.

Anita Williams will provide piano accompaniment as her son Nathan leads the come-and-go community Christmas Carol Sing-Along from 6-9 p.m. in the 1910 Room.

Visitors are encouraged to walk right in and start singing. More than two dozen unusual and original works of art featuring a variety of media, artists and subjects inspired by Fall and Winter Holiday traditions will be on display in the Tea Room.

Many of the works are for sale and a variety of local Pop-Up art vendors will also be present and selling art ideal for your seasonal gift giving.

Decorations abound inside and out for tours, selfies, family photos, and lots of holiday cheer. Guests arrive to an outdoor “lighted river” flowing from the front stairs of the former church sanctuary to the Mermaid sculpture in the Garden.

Inside, a variety of Christmas trees – traditional and non, handmade ornaments, wonderful and imaginative floral displays, and unique mini-collections offer a delightfully merry and visual treat for all.

Of particular interest this year is the Asian-inspired Christmas tree, centerpieces and table-scapes featuring nearly 400 origami paper cranes in the Tea Room and the mini reindeer and tree collections in glass cabinets in the Main Parlor and 1893 Chapel.

Guests to the Price Center can easily stroll to any number of the other participating Third Thursday sites downtown to take in more art, live music, and more. Simply look for the Third Thursday Downtown Walkabout seal or visit downtownsanmarcos.org or @smtxthirdthursday on Facebook.
