Buda Christmas Tree Disposal Information

Texas Disposal Systems, Inc. will be picking up Christmas trees on regular service days from December 26th to January 13th. The tree must be clear of decor, cut into four-foot lengths and bundled with rope or twine.

• Where can Christmas trees be dropped off?

• When can Christmas trees be dropped off? 
December 26, 2016 – January 31, 2017**All TDS locations will be closed January 1 for the holiday, with the exception of TDS Bee Cave which will also be closed December 31. Garden-Ville locations will be closed December 23 – 26 & December 30 – January 2. 

• How are Christmas trees composted? 
Christmas trees and other living decorations will be re-purposed and made into nutrient-rich mulch and compost through the Texas Disposal Systems composting division. The finished composts and mulches will be available for purchase at Garden-Ville stores throughout Central Texas. 

• Can other items be dropped off for recycling besides Christmas trees? 
TDS will accept clean Christmas trees and organic decorations such as holly, pumpkins and other living decorations for recycling. 

• Is there a fee for dropping off Christmas trees? 
No, this service is free. Please note: Trees and decorations must be free of lights, ornaments, metal, and other non-living contaminants. A $45 contamination fee will be assessed for trees and decorations that have not been cleaned. When bringing loads for drop off, please ensure that materials are tied and secured, per Texas law. 

• Can artificial Christmas trees be recycled? 
No. Only trees and other live/organic materials are able to be recycled. 

• How can artificial Christmas trees be disposed
TDS customers who need to dispose of their artificial trees may schedule a bulky pick up by calling 1.800.375.8375. Additional fees may apply.
