Cinema Club Presents Locally Made, Experimental Short Films

The talents of San Marcos’s experimental film-making community will be on display Thursday evening in the cozy backyard of HomeBrew Supply on the Square, courtesy an exposition of short films curated by Cinema Club.
Dubbed “SHORTS & SHIRTS” — featuring the debut of Cinema Club’s new, hand-printed t-shirts to coincide with the screening of the short films — the evening begins at 7:30 PM with complimentary beverages aplenty on hand for adult attendees, provided by the venue hosts.
Among the local film-makers showing work are: George Zupp, Jeffrey Garcia, Fen Dreamlord, Nik Crawford, Sydney Huddleston, James Torres, Lisa Marie Coppoletta, AJ Rangel, Zac Witte & Brielle Erdie.
Exclusive entry to “SHORTS & SHIRTS” is by way of the alley adjacent to The Marc, the same path traveled by Mason, the titular character of the landmark film Boyhood.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a fold-out chair, blanket or something comfortable to sit on.
Donations at the door, as well as proceeds from shirt sales, will benefit Cinema Club’s springtime programming of free films all across San Marcos, enabling the fledgling organization to invite filmmakers to town and to pay for film rentals, flyer expenses and such.
The beer menu for the evening includes: Peanut Butter Chocolate Porter, Irish Dry Stout, Extra Special Bitter & Belgian Tripel.
