City of San Marcos Neighborhood Services officials and Lowe’s are partnering in a contest to encourage property owners and tenants to fix common code violations and beautify their homes and neighborhoods. Prizes include a Bolens 25 CC 2-cycle curved shaft gas string trimmer, a Lowe’s bucket filled with 30 gallon paper lawn bags, a Lowe’s hat, work gloves, and t-shirt.
“This contest is a fun way to encourage residents and property owners to partner with the City to beautify their property and bring it up to code,” said Fire Marshal Ken Bell.
To participate, residents living in the San Marcos city limits can take before and after pictures of their homes or yards showing how they have dramatically transformed their property and fixed their code violations. Photos should be sent to communications@sanmarcostx.gov with name, address and preferred contact information in the body of the email.
Qualifying photos will be entered into a drawing to be held Friday, Aug. 19 at the Lowe’s store in San Marcos, 2211 S. IH-35.
