City Manager Bert Lumbreras is pleased to announce that Stephanie Reyes has been chosen to fill the position of Chief of Staff, effective February 8, 2018.
Ms. Reyes has worked at the City of San Marcos since June 2001 and has served as Assistant Director of Human Resources for the past 5 years. Prior to this, she served as Interim Economic Development Director and Assistant to the City Manager.
Reyes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration from Southwest Texas State University.
She is a member of the Texas City Management Association, International City/County Management Association and has served as a board member or officer for the Hays County Dispute Resolution Center, Community Action and Leadership San Marcos Alumni Association.
Currently, she serves as Treasurer for the Crockett Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.
She and her husband of 9 years, Andrew, have two children, Andrés, 6, and Gabriela, 3.
Job Description:
The Chief of Staff provides guidance to the City Manager on procedural and substantive matters affecting the City. Provides direction and guidance to City leadership on behalf of the City Manager on procedural and substantive issues. Independently manages and oversees projects and initiatives. Resolves problems or conflicts which may arise and helps establish good management practices and internal and external relations.
