City Of Austin Announces Labor Day Closures

The City of Austin reminds all residents and visitors to secure a safe ride home from holiday celebrations.


City of Austin administrative offices and other municipal facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of Labor Day. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Closures include City Council offices, all recreation and senior centers, cultural centers and museums. All locations for the Austin Public Library will be closed Sunday, Sept. 2 and Labor Day. Locations will resume normal hours on Tuesday.

Recycling, composting and trash collections and the Recycle and Reuse Drop-Off Center will not be affected by the holiday.

Year-round pools will be open, including Barton Springs Pool. For pool schedules and/or closures, please check on our website at www.austintexas.gov/pools. The Austin Nature and Science Center, Zilker Botanical Gardens, golf courses and the Austin Animal Center will remain open during regular hours.
