BUDA, TX — Dec. 12, 2016 — The City of Buda is pleased to announce a new addition to our team. Micah Grau has been named as the City’s new Assistant City Manager. Mr. Grau comes to us from Hutto where he previously served as Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager.
Mr. Grau started his career as an intern in the City Manager’s Office with the City of Kerrville. He was hired by the City of Hutto in 2006 as the Budget and Special Projects Coordinator. In 2009 he was promoted to Director of Finance and then in 2012 he moved into the Assistant City Manager Position.
“The City of Buda is fortunate to bring Mr. Micah Grau on to the City of Buda team as an Assistant City Manager. His years of experience in serving as an Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager in the Austin/San Marcos metro area are invaluable,” said Buda City Manager Kenneth Williams. “Micah is one of the bright young minds in the City Management profession. His education with a Master and Bachelor degree in Public Administration and Political Science should serve us well. We welcome Micah to the City of Buda.”
Mr. Grau is a member of the Texas City Managers Association (TCMA), the International City Managers Association (ICMA), and serves as Vice President of TCMA Region 7. He also serves in several other community organizations.
“My family and I are so excited to join the City of Buda! Buda has done a great job of honoring the community’s heritage and maintaining the small town feel and charm that makes Buda unique, while balancing the tremendous growth it has faced. My experience in the fast-growth community of Hutto, Texas will help me in Buda,” said Grau. “As the Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager in Hutto, I helped managed the City’s growth by administering the City’s finances, overseeing construction of major capital projects, and by helping kick start the City’s downtown redevelopment efforts. I look forward to getting to know the community and working with the tremendous Council and staff in Buda.”
Mr. Grau holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Public Administration from Texas State University. He will start with the City of Buda on Jan. 3, 2017.
