Buda Receives Certificate Of Achievement For Excellence In Financial Reporting In 2019

BUDA, TX — The City of Buda is proud to announce that it has received the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The City received the Certificate of Achievement for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the 2018 Fiscal Year.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“I am extremely proud to say that the taxpayers in Buda can have confidence that our public funds are being managed in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and public accountability,” said June Ellis, Finance Director. “This accomplishment is a direct result of the dedication and professionalism of the entire finance staff who consistently work to clearly, accurately, and effectively communicate the City’s financial picture to the public.”

“I am extremely proud of the finance team for being recognized once again by the GFOA,” said Kenneth Williams, Buda City Manager. “Thank you to Mr. Ellis and his entire finance team for their dedication and hard work in producing an exemplary comprehensive annual financial report.”

The CAFR prepared by the City of Buda Finance department has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
