The City of Buda received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada  Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The City received the Certificate of Achievement for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“The Finance Department is proud to be recognized by the GFOA with this amazing award,” said June Ellis, Finance Director. “Being a first-time recipient of this award makes me proud and shows our community and stakeholders our ongoing commitment to being good stewards of the tax dollars. I give credit for this award to the hardworking team in the City’s Finance Department and their daily dedication to the City of Buda.”

“Being recognized by the GFOA is a tremendous honor for the City of Buda,” said Kenneth Williams, Buda City Manager. “I’m proud of Mr. Ellis and his entire finance team for their dedication and hard work in producing an exemplary comprehensive annual financial report. I would also like to thank Evan Ture, Remy Fallon, and Wiley Hopkins for serving on the Audit Committee and for their contribution to the annual financial report.”

The CAFR prepared by the City of Buda Finance department has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
