The City of Buda is proud to announce that it has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Buda Presentation Award for its current budget.
This is a significant achievement for the City of Buda and its Finance Department. The award reflects the commitment of staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
“It has been ten years since the City last received this prestigious award from the Government Finance Officers Association, and the Finance Department takes pride in knowing that we have been bestowed such recognition for our quality budget practices and presentation reflected in our Fiscal Year 2018 budget document,” said Finance Director June Ellis.
In order to receive the budget award, the City had to meet recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines measured how well the City’s budget served as:
“This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of Mr. Ellis and his entire finance team,” City Manager Kenneth Williams said. “The City of Buda is proud and honored to be recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association for its quality budget practices.”
The City’s budget documents had to achieve a “proficient” rating in all four categories to receive the award. The GFOA presented a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation to Finance Director June Ellis.
Government Finance Officers Association is a major professional association servicing the needs of more than 19,000 appointed and elected local, state, and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners.
They provide top quality publications, training programs, services, and products designed to enhance the skills and performance of those responsible for government finance policy and management. The association is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with offices in Washington D.C.
