City Of Buda Still In Stage 1 Drought Restrictions

Buda, still in Stage 1 restrictions, will likely stay there until improvements are completed to the water line from FM 967 to Garlic Creek storage tank and improvements to Garlic Creek Pump Station. This action is to reduce pressure on the water infrastructure resulting from intensive water use. Water conservation can help prolong water supplies and delay well issues.
As a result, City of Buda water customers must take actions to conserve water. Irrigation is restricted to the hours between midnight and 10am, and 7pm to midnight on the customer’s designated day. Odd-numbered residential addresses may water on Wednesday and/or Saturday, while even numbered residential addresses may water on Thursday and/or Sunday. Commercial and multifamily addresses may water on Tuesday and/or Friday. Watering for foundation maintenance is allowed any day at any time, provided it does not result in pooling or runoff. Washing of impervious surfaces, such as driveways and parking lots, is prohibited unless required for health and safety.
The City of Buda encourages homeowners and businesses to consider landscape improvements that are resilient in times of drought, and can provide informational resources to those interested.
