City of Kyle announces unofficial District 5 runoff election results

Staff Reports

KYLE – Daniela Parsley will be the city council member for District 5, according to unofficial election results from the Runoff Election.

The City of Kyle held a Runoff Election on Tuesday, Dec. 7 to determine a council member for District 5, an at-large seat. Runoff elections are initiated when candidates do not meet the Majority Vote Requirement of 50% plus one vote (Texas Constitution Article XI, § 11b).

The candidates for the runoff election were incumbent Mayor Pro Tem Rick Koch and Parsley, the two candidates in the November General Election who received the highest number of votes.

According to unofficial election results, Koch received 45.29% of the votes — or 457 votes — and Parsley received 54.71% of the votes — or 552 votes.
