Flood Victim Resource Centers
The City of San Marcos and Hays County are working with disaster relief organizations around the country to host two Flood Victims Resource Centers for those impacted by the devastating floods in the area. The centers will include representatives to assist victims with information on housing, healthcare, mental healthcare, insurance and other aid. Below is a list of hours, locations and confirmed agencies.

San Marcos-
The City of San Marcos Donation Center (200 Springtown Way) is open for pick-up of items by those in need. The center is open everyday from 8am-5pm. Those in need should arrive ready to provide name and address. For info on how to donate items or to learn about community-run distribution center, visit sanmarcostx.gov/smtxfloodgive.
San Marcos University Church of Christ is providing cleaning supplies, buckets, shovels, wheel barrows, water, food boxes, baby supply boxes, diapers, blankets, sheets, pillows, men and women’s underwear and socks and various other items. Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to residents from the flooded areas. As per county guidelines we will need to collect address and contact information with a valid ID. This facility is open Mon-Sat 10am-6pm.

Wimberley-
Wimberley Donation Center – Wimberley residents in need can pick up supplies at Wimberley High School, 100 Carney, Wimberley.

- State Bar of Texas – Phone hotline established to to help people find answers to basic legal questions and connect them with local legal aid providers following recent flooding and other severe weather in Texas. Call (800) 504-7030 to reach hotline
- Texas RioGrande Legal Aid – Helping with issues related to variety of legal concerns including denials of insurance claims, problems with a landlord or mortgage company, price gouging, and replacing important legal documents (866) 757-1570
Local businesses offering services to flood victims:
- Sam’s Club (1350 Leah Ave, San Marcos) is now accepting all shoppers regardless of membership until Friday, May 29th. Walmart located at 1015 Hwy 80 was previously closed due to flooding but is open as of May 28th.
- McCoys – McCoy¹s is offering a discount to flood victims on a large group of items typically used in repairs after flooding‹drywall/drywall accessories and insulation-related products, interior doors, primers and paint. Customers can ask for the Hays County Flood discount or request that their purchase be made using Bid #125074.
- Blue Moon Optical (121 W San Antonio St, San Marcos) – Offering free trial pairs of contacts and possibly glasses or frames to flood victims who lost their prescriptions this past weekend. 805-710-2445
