City of San Marcos Sponsors Fall Rain Barrel Sale

The City of San Marcos is partnering with PolyMart to offer affordable rain barrels and tanks to San Marcos area residents.
The 50 gallon SpringSaver Rain Barrel is $64.99 and has a flat back for placement against walls. The 54 gallon RainSaver is $84.99 and comes with a solid brass spigot and 6 foot overflow hose. The 100 and 250 gallon Rainwater Harvesting Tanks feature a UV resistant lining and 10 year manufacturer’s warranty.
All of the barrels and tanks are made in the USA and come assembled for easy setup. They are available in a variety of colors to match your home.
“These rain barrels are perfect for those that want to collect rain water or ac condensate for flower beds or potted plants” said Jan Klein, Conservation Coordinator. “But there is also a rebate for those that want to install larger rainwater systems.”
You do not have to be a San Marcos resident to purchase the barrels, but only City water customers are eligible for the $0.50 per gallon rebate.
Here’s how it works:
1) Purchase your barrels online by October 17 at http://cityrainbarrelprogram.org
2) Pick up your barrels at the San Marcos City Hall Complex on Saturday, October 31 between 9 a.m. and noon.
3) City of San Marcos water customers submit rebate application along with copy of purchase receipt.
