City of San Marcos Verifies Offical Outside Contractors Working For FEMA

City of San Marcos has confirmed that Parsons-Brinkerhoff and Vanguard are official contractors for FEMA and have a handful of contractors visiting people WHO HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED for FEMA Assistance.
 
The contractors who visit flood victims will have the a badge with their photo, FEMA Contractor on it and DHS on it. They will have the registration number the individual was given when registering for FEMA assistance and will be able to pull up their registration info on the tablet computer they carry with them. They will not ask individuals for their personal information. 
 
Persons in Hays County can register for federal assistance at
 
www.DisasterAssistance.gov, or through the City of San Marcos website at www.sanmarcostx.gov/smtxfloodfema.
 
(If you do not have access to the internet you may register by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY).  If you use 711 relay or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 800-621-3362 directly. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.
