What’s best for vets? On August 24, Kyle City Council allocated money toward a future veteran memorial site, a move toward recognizing and honoring those who have served.
$10,000 will be drawn from the 2016-17 fiscal year budget, an indication that construction could be on the horizon.
Even still, private donations will be necessary as similar memorial projects have required as much as $70,000.
Council Member District 4 David Wilson brought forth the concept to City Council and hopes they will consider immortalizing veterans by including their names somewhere on the project.
Wilson also explained that a commission composed of veterans and citizens of Kyle could be created to discuss the memorial’s specifics such as location and design.
