San Marcos Seeks Women’s Hall Of Fame Nominations

The City of San Marcos is seeking nominations by Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. for initiation into the San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame, which honors women who have made meaningful contributions to the San Marcos community through personal achievement and community service.

Criteria for selection includes volunteerism in multiple areas of service, meeting the needs of the community, demonstration of initiative, influencing positive change and going beyond the call of duty.

The San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame began in 1984 to honor women for their volunteerism and leadership in the community. Since then, 140 women have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. A special committee of former recipients reviews the nominations and selects the honorees each year.

The City of San Marcos, coordinated by the City Clerk’s Office, will host the 2019 Annual Women’s Hall of Fame Reception on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 6 PM at the City Park Rec Hall, 170 Charles Austin Drive.

Entry forms are available at the City Clerk’s Office, 630 E. Hopkins or online at http://sanmarcostx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/12773/2019-Womens-Hall-of-Fame-nomination-form-PDF. Nominations should be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office or emailed to Tammy Cook, Deputy City Clerk, at tkcook@sanmarcostx.gov.
