Update: City to Dedicate Murals Monday, Thursday Next Week

Update: On Thursday, Dec. 8, the Veterans Mural will be dedicated at Corridor Title Company, 133 W. San Antonio Street, at 9 a.m. Then, at 9:30 a.m., “The Sentinel” will be dedicated at Southside Community Center, 518 S. Guadalupe Street. The mural unveiling was originally scheduled for Monday, but was postponed due to weather.

The City will dedicate two murals next week at Southside Community Center and at Corridor Title Company.

On Monday, Dec. 5, “The Sentinel” will be dedicated at Southside Community Center, 518 S. Guadalupe Street, at 9 a.m.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, the Veterans Mural will be dedicated at Corridor Title Company, 133 W. San Antonio Street, at 9 a.m.

“The Sentinel” was created by local artist and public school art educator Darin Wood. Wood is active in the local art community and has pieces on display throughout North America.

Ryan Runcie is a graduate of Texas State University. The Veterans Mural was created by Runcie after meetings were held with local veterans of all wars. The veterans shared their stories earlier this year, inspiring the design of the mural.
