City To Host CDBG Application Workshop Next Week

The City of San Marcos is hosting an application workshop for organizations interested in applying for funding through the City’s 2015 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Activity Center, 501 East Hopkins, San Marcos.

“We are providing this workshop as an opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions about project eligibility, documentation requirements and the application forms,” said Janis Hendrix, Community Initiatives Administrator.

The City is not accepting applications from individuals who are looking for direct assistance (for example, those who need repairs made to their home). CDBG funds are awarded to organizations that directly assist individuals.

The application deadline is Monday, April 13 at 5 p.m. and should be turned in to the Development Services – Planning office temporarily located in the Main Street Office located at 317 N. LBJ Drive (across from Gil’s Broiler).  For more information, contact Janis Hendrix at 512-393.8147 or by e-mail at jhendrix@sanmarcostx.gov.
