City to host Vision SMTX Open House

Staff Reports

The City of San Marcos invites the public to participate in an open house for the Vision SMTX Comprehensive Plan on Thursday, May 26 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins St.

The interactive meeting schedule will include:

  • 5:30-6:00 p.m. | Social Gathering
  • 6:00-6:45 p.m. | Presentation
  • 6:45-8:00 p.m. | Open House and Interactive Activities

The Vision SMTX Comprehensive Plan will outline the goals and vision for the future of San Marcos over the next 20 years. The open house will feature progress made on the Comprehensive Plan over the past year on various topics including housing, parks, land use, environment and resource protection, arts and culture, and growth management.

“We invite you to participate and share comments with us to ensure that we continue to strengthen a San Marcos that is inclusive of our community’s needs and articulates the vision and goals that are most important to our community,” said Planning Manager Andrea Villalobos. “We’re looking forward to presenting the vision created thus far by our community and invite the public to let us know if we’re on the right track.”

Food and other giveaways will be available for open house attendees. There will also be a virtual “Storymap” of the open house available at www.visionsmtx.com for community members unable to attend the May 26 event.
