City to Host ‘Zoning for Character’ Workshops this Week

The City invites residents to join planners and other officials at one of four workshops to learn about the new character-based zoning districts and regulating plans being proposed in each of the six Intensity Zones identified in Vision San Marcos, the city’s comprehensive master plan.  Download the flyer here.

The four identical workshops are being held at the following times at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins:

August 19: 2 – 4 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/events/995642183802678/

August 20: 2 – 4 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/events/510783915742285/

August 20: 6 – 8 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/events/866910173401158/

These Intensity Zones are intended to accommodate the City’s growing population in well planned areas where people can meet their daily needs within a short walk, bike ride, public transit trip or drive.

The workshops will provide an opportunity for residents to ask questions of staff and the consultant team helping the City rewrite the Land Development Code, as well as give input on issues that are important to consider as the code is developed.
